Inspired by the homonymous film by Frank Perry, the artist develops a series of paintings and ceramics for the exhibition Mommie Dearest that explore identity formation, childhood trauma, body fetishization, Hollywood archetypes, kitsch, glamour and psychedelia. Through satire and exploration of identity, the exhibition challenges societal norms and gender roles imposed on the body, particularly to the female body.
